[Share] Work or Career in the SAP world
While browsing at indo-sap@yahoogroups.com there are posts that are quite interesting, some questions from Pak Mansyahtri about work in the SAP world. Next is the question and answer list:
Question: SAP consultant with the person who works in the company that uses SAP does the same work / job des? If it's different, where is the difference?
Answer: Although the same holds SAP but the job description is a little different. SAP consultants are more oriented to project based, so the day to day work will be very related to the project being handled, and usually project based work will be more challenging because we will be dealing with new environments, different business processes and limited working time with deadlines very tight. While work in companies that use SAP (being a user) is more handling day to day operation, while if there is a project it will function as a support for the main consultant team
Question: So the SAP consultant said it works like horse work, there is almost no free time, going back and forth in the morning like that every day, even weekends, sometimes going to work. There's no time for family. Really like that?
Answer: Yes you can or not, the work of SAP consultants is very dependent on the phase of the ongoing project, in an SAP project there are times when SAP consultants become very busy, such as when it is about to go live, where all the work is very much sometimes it is not predictable when preparation does not want to have to be completed before the specified deadline. But there is also a fairly loose time, such as when it has entered a supporting period, or the initial period of the project and making a blue print project where days are usually spent meeting with the user so at least a weekend with the family is still at least
Question: Is it better to work as a consultant SAP or work in a company that uses SAP? What is the minus plus?
Answer: If this depends on person to person, there are people who always want a challenge, a different atmosphere, new science might prefer to live as a consultant. While those who are more pleased with a more stable life, being able to plan family events far in the future might prefer to become SAP users. The minus plus might be the one that follows the maxim of high risk high gain
Question: Is it really a SAP consultant the rate is high? How much is the rate different from the person who works at the company that uses SAP?
Answer: So far this opinion can be said to be true. But what must be noted in SAP consultants is that there is no clear career path
Question: How many SAP consultant rates with zero SAP experience in world?
Answer: It depends on the company that receives it, because with zero experience it cannot be called an SAP consultant right
Question: What is the rate of the person working in a company that uses SAP with zero SAP experience in world?
Answer: This also depends on the company, maybe we are only considered as a fresh graduate when applying without SAP experiences
Question: Is there any difference between SAP work in World, apart from the payment terms?
Answer: I hear you just hear it, maybe the language is different, then some might find a newer and more complicated version of the application
Current work in the SAP world still looks promising because the opportunities obtained are more open, this is because SAP is used almost all over the world. But what must be remembered is that there are still many opportunities outside of SAP, such as Oracle and CISCO. So, what must be done is to be grateful for what is already there and still struggle patiently to achieve our dreams.
Please also if anyone wants to share also about how to work in the SAP world ^^
